Dr. Sara J. Gotwalt
Dr. Sara J. Gotwalt is proud to be a third-generation dentist, continuing a family legacy of trusted dental care. Her grandfather, Dr. Spurgeon T. Gotwalt, founded the practice in 1952. Her father, Dr. John T. Gotwalt, joined the practice in 1979, and Dr. Sara J. Gotwalt followed in their footsteps, joining the practice in 2009.
Sara was born in Lancaster County and is proud to call it her home. She lives in Lititz with her four cats (Lenny, Piglet, Woodrow and Ruth) and her goldfish, Beefy.
She loves the outdoors, plants, reading, cooking, traveling with friends and spending time with family. She is trying to master the art of fly-fishing, cut-flower gardening and hiking as many places as she can.
Like her father, Dr. Sara takes great pride in all the continuing education that she attends. She started learning the importance and value of continuing education as a second year dental student when her father would take her along to his classes, to help her get a head start. She is surrounding herself with the people that have the same enthusiasm for learning life and dentistry as she does, and her father has been one of her biggest supporters and helpers.
Continuing Education
Dr. Sara is an active member of the Dawson Academy, where she is completing an intense curriculum that focuses on comprehensive dentistry. She is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Pennsylvania AGD, American Dental Association, and the Pennsylvania Dental Association and the Lancaster County Dental Society. She received her fellowship with the AGD in 2014 and is currently and avidly working on obtaining her mastership which requires an additional 1000 hours of lecture and participation courses across all disciplines of dentistry. Dr. Sara belongs to multiple study clubs, including but not limited to, PEAK, R.V. Tucker Gold Study Club, ADISC (Advanced Dental Implant Study Club), and L.D. Pankey study club (APPI).
